World Book Day
On Thursday 3rd March we celebrate the 14th World Book Day. The main aim of this event is to encourage children to explore the pleasure of books and reading by providing them with an opportunity to have a book of their own. Your child will shortly receive a €1.50 book token which is a gift from your local booksellers and this can be redeemed against any books in the shop or can be used to purchase the specially produced World Book day €1.50 books.
World Maths Day
1st of March www.worldmathsday.com
World Spelling Day
3rd of March www.worldspellingday.com
Students of all ages can take part in real time mental arithmetic and spelling challenges. All you need is internet access. Students will receive their username and password at school.
Upgrading of Internet Services:
With the proceeds of the Christmas Concert we have purchased an improved internet service for the school. We have also installed a server which links all the computers in the school and backs up all the saved information. Our next step will be to install a component that will give remote access to pupils so we hope in time that homework can be submitted even if the child is absent from school. Good news for all the pupils I’m sure!!!
Leamlara/Lisgoold Community Quiz
Good Luck to the 5th and 6th class teams who will be participating in the quiz on Thursday next.
Sacrament of Penance:
First sacrament of Penance for 2nd class children will be taking place on Monday 21st February in the Church.
